Auditions Announced for FROG & TOAD

Theatricks Director Webster Crocker is announcing that auditions for Theatricks summer musical, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, May 26 and 27 at the Honey McGee Playhouse from 6 to 9 p.m.

The auditions are open to anyone interested, but due to the difficulty of the music the auditions are recommended for those ages 13 and up. The audition process will require filling out an audition form, singing a prepared song, and reading from the script. An accompanist and CD/tape player will be present for auditions. Auditioners may be asked to read music, and sing a piece in harmony.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD is the Tony award nominated adaptation of the beloved Arnold Lobel classic stories where cheery Frog and grumpy Toad leap off the page to the stage just in time for blossoming, bird chirping spring. With hilarious and tender songs inspired by snazzy jazzy music, this charming musical comedy gloriously suggests that having a very best friend for flying kites, racing sleds and baking cookies is as good as it gets.

For more information about auditions, contact Webster Crocker at 903-893-8525 or

Theatricks 2009-2010 Season

The Theatricks Advisory Council has selected a fabulous line up of shows for the 2009-2010 season!

Willy Wonka

The season will start off in grand style with the musical WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY sponsored by Sherman Cardiovascular Care Associates September 5 and 6, 2009.

The "Golden Ticket" to Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world-famous candy man comes to life in this stage adaptation. "Pure Imagination" is inspired by fascinating flying effects created by ZFX and the scrumptious songs from the classic family film WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.

This musical is based on the book CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY by Roald Dahl with music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, adapted for the stage by Tim McDonald. The production will be performed in the historic Kidd Key Auditorium complete with flying effects by professional flying operators, ZFX. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, July 20 and 21, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Finley Theater.

Charlie Brown

WONKA will be followed in the spring by another musical, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN March 5- 14, 2010. This musical has book, music and lyrics by Clark Gesner. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, January 25 and 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Honey McGee Playhouse.

This musical is based on Charles Schultz' popular "Peanuts" comic strip, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN which chronicles the events in a day in the life of Charlie Brown along with other familiar characters such as Lucy, Sally, Linus, Schroeder, and Snoopy. Come find out what true "Happiness Is" as told by the "Peanuts" gang.

To close out the 2009-2010 season will be the play, THE BFG (big friendly giant) sponsored by Caskey Orthodontics July 9- 18, 2010. This play was adapted from Roald Dahl's book by English playwright David Wood. Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, May 25 and 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Honey McGee Playhouse.

A children's favorite, the well known story about a twenty four foot high giant and a little girl is recreated faithfully for the stage. At Sophie's birthday party, family and friends act out the story using props and puppets in an improvisational manner to show how good can triumph over evil. A true "whizzpopping" time will be had by all.

Theatricks 2009-2010 season memberships will go on sell in June during the production run of SCP's CAMELOT.

Sponsors for Theatricks 2009-2010 season and for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN are still available. Specifics about sponsoring can be obtained through Webster Crocker Theatricks Director at 903-893-8525 or

"I've Got a Golden Ticket!"

One grand prize winning basket will also be selected from the five winners that will be filled with even more special items like a DVD player and a walk-on part in the production of WILLY WONKA.
