The Hundred Acre Woods Comes to Life with New Faces

Theatricks Director Webster Crocker is excited to announce the cast for the 2006-2007 Theatricks season finale THE HOUSE AT POOH CORNER sponsored by Texoma Care Pediatrics.  THE HOUSE AT POOH CORNER will perform July 6,7,8,13,14,15  2007 at the Honey McGee Playhouse located at 313 W. Mulberry Street in Sherman.

THE HOUSE AT POOH CORNER is a collection of short stories by A.A. Milne that he originally told to his son, Christopher.  Some of the stories included in this production cover the building of a house for Eeyore, the introduction of Tigger into the woods, Christopher Robin being sent to education, and the rebuilding of Owl’s house after Tigger destroys it.

Cast in the rolls of some of the most famous characters of all children’s literature are Ellie Margolis as the loveable and honey smitten Winnie-the-Pooh, and his faithful companion Piglet portrayed by Allyson Smith.  Rabbit is characterized by Jessie Noblett who has two of her 27 nieces with her Early Rabbit played by Hannah Sanza and Late Rabbit played by Madeleine Acker.  Kanga is being characterized by Theresa Littlefield who played her last summer in the play WINNE-THE-POOH, and is accompanied by little Roo played by Hannah Bowers.  Krystina Burns portrays Owl, and Eeyore is played by Hailee Marcum.  Rounding out the cast is Natalia Wojciechowska as the bouncy Tigger, Townsend Jambor as Christopher Robin, and Zeke Dolezalek as the Voice.  Zeke is also the head costumer and Lighting and Sound Operator for this show.

Other supporting production crew members include Tammi and Kaylea Daubenspeck and Betty Harper with costumes; Amber Clay, Susan and Autumn Winegarden with props; Jordan Hancock with make-up; Ken Paith, John Lonnevik, Steven Mildward, Tom Rawson on set; and Tom Rawson as the Lighting Designer.

The cast has been in rehearsal now for two weeks learning their blocking (stage directions) and lines (dialogue), and are looking forward to bringing to life on stage this all too familiar children’s classic, THE HOUSE AT POOH CORNER.  For more information about tickets go to Theatricks website at www.scptheater.org, or call the theater business office at 903-893-8525.  Theatricks 2006-2007 season is sponsored by Caskey Orthodontics.

Supporting Cast Prepares for a New Season of Theatre

Theatricks teen group the Supporting Cast is gearing up for another full season of learning and participating in theatre.  The first step is to assist with the summer Wizard of Oz Camp that will teach dance and movement, singing, and acting to 90 participants utilizing the talents of Amy Dean, Cheryl Lewis, and Webster Crocker as the teachers.

The camp will be followed up by the auditions for Theatricks first show for the 2007-2008 season, THE WIZARD OF OZ, Monday and Tuesday, July 30 and 31 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Finley Theater located at 500 N. Meeting subjects for the upcoming Supporting Cast meetings will be July 12 at 6 p.m. with a demonstration of Costuming for Fantasy Characters; August 9 at 6 p.m. with a demonstration on Tool Usage and Safety Tips; and September 13 at 6 p.m. with a demonstration of Stage Dialects.

Master Thespians Elise Hebert and Samantha Crocker show off the plaque bearing their names.

Theatricks Director Webster Crocker is also excited to announce that two more Supporting Cast members have reached the status of ‘Master Thespian’, and they are Kaylea Daubenspeck and Elizabeth McIntyre.  A special article on them will be coming in future newsletters.

The Wizard of Oz Camp Sees Mad Rush for Enrollment

Within only two days of an announcement in the local newspaper, the Wizard of Oz Camp was full to brimming with student enrollment.  90 students will be participating in the summer camp that will help to teach them dance and movement, singing, and acting.

This is the most students that Theatricks has ever had involved in a workshop session at one time.  The whole camp was designed specifically to help teach students the preparation and expectations of auditioning for a musical production.  This is a further commitment by the Sherman Community Players and Theatricks to bring the knowledge of the theatre arts to our community.

The Wizard of Oz Camp is completely full, and there will not be anymore students allowed to participate.  Theatricks next workshop session will be this October and more information will be forthcoming in future newsletters.
