Theatricks To Unveil New Website
With the beginning of the new year, Theatricks will be kicking off the new website www.theatricks.org.
Taking many of the ideas from Theatricks supporters, and incorporating some of the latest technology, it will now be even easier for anyone to find information about shows, sign up for workshops, become a season member, and receive monthly reminders of upcoming events all at the click of a mouse.
It has been a little over 10 years since the Sherman Community Players first launched their website and it has served pretty well for those 10 years. But as our society becomes more and more connected via the internet, the Theatricks Director sought to find better ways to stay in touch with those who surf the net. Three years ago an e-newsletter was created to further inform patrons of the 'Behind the Scenes' theatre activities, and will now be linked up with the new site.
We invite you to join us on our new website, and if you like it, please let us know. I guarantee it will be worth your time to surf!
Are You Not a Season Member?
During the month of December, mini-memberships are being sold at the productions of THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, and gives you the opportunity to not miss a single production in the new year.
Theatricks mini-memberships are $15 and includes the two shows YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN March 5 to 14, and THE BFG (big friendly giant) July 9 to 18. SCP Mainstage mini-memberships are $35 and includes the three shows THE NERD February 5 to 21, TWELVE ANGRY MEN April 9 to 25, and GYPSY June 4 to 27.

CHARLIE BROWN Auditions
Theatricks spring musical production YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN is right around the corner in March. But before you can have a production, one first needs to select a cast. January 25 and 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Honey McGee Playhouse, Theatricks Director Webster Crocker will be holding auditions looking for the right combination of "Peanuts" characters for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN.
Theatricks auditions are open to anyone wishing to audition, no previous theatre knowledge required, but due to the difficulty of the music for CHARLIE BROWN you have to be at least age 13 and up for this one. The person auditioning must come to the auditions prepared to sing a song and read from the script.
Don't know how to audition? Well, you are in luck for on Thursday, January 7 at 6 p.m. in the Honey McGee Playhouse, a Musical Auditioning Workshop will be taught by Theatricks Director Webster Crocker and Vocal Instructor Sylvia Rivers. Learn how to select the right song, length of song, how to dress, what the director and musical director are listening for from a musical audition.
Supporting Cast Prepares for CHARLIE BROWN
Theatricks teen theatre group, the Supporting Cast (grades 6th to 12th), is learning the process of theatre hands-on by performing every technical production element of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN like costumes, sets, props, lights, sound, ushering, advertising, etc.
The current group of Supporting Cast students started back in September signing up for production committees, researching the play, and discussing their ideas. They have met monthly since then learning further about various theatre elements and further developing their ideas.
Charles Schulz would be proud of this "Peanuts" gang, and so will you! Mark your calendars for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN March 5 to 14 at the Honey McGee Playhouse. The Theatricks box office will open March 1st for Theatricks season members, and March 2 for the general public. Tickets are $10 adults and seniors, and $8 for students.
