Theatricks Gets an Intern for the Summer
Brooks Burton
The Sherman Community Players (SCP) has been selected by Austin College to once again host an intern for the summer as part of their Lily Grant Program. This will mark the fourth time that SCP has received this honor. The intern, Brooks Burton, will be assisting the Theatricks program, working closely with Theatricks Director Webster Crocker.
Brooks Burton is getting his major in Business Administration and Theatre at Austin College, and hopes to gain the experience needed to start a career in business operations for the theatre/entertainment or sports industries. He will be spending most of his time with Theatricks helping them to come up with an advertising package for next season, plus assisting with other areas like box office, production elements, attending board meetings and whatever else may come up. Brooks was very active in his high school theatre department at Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Texas. "I have participated in many aspects of theatre and I am excited to experience the business side of theatre," said Brooks.
Stop by the theatre some time and introduce yourself to Brooks, or just to catch up on what's new.

2008-2009 Theatricks Season Sponsors
Theatricks Director Webster Crocker has just completed finding all of the sponsors for Theatricks new 2008-2009 season which is sure to be a big hit!
Sherman Tourism is on board again this year as Theatricks season sponsor, which will be a season of musicals. Since Theatricks and the Sherman Tourism Department started working together three years ago, Theatricks memberships are way up and so is the number of out of town visitors.
The first show of the season will be the Tony Award-winning OLIVER! September 5 – 14, 2008 sponsored by first time sponsor Sherman Cardiovascular Care Associates. The spring production of HONK! will be March 6-15, 2009 sponsored by Caskey Orthodontics. Caskey is a long time supporter of Theatricks, and we are grateful to have them sponsor again this year. And the last show of the season is A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD July 10-19, 2009 sponsored by TexomaCare Pediatrics, who are joined this year by TexomaCare Family Practice.
Webster is so glad to have all of them on board for this new season, because without their support Theatricks wouldn't be able to offer such wonderful productions year in and year out.
